And the prompt for Day 5 is a pony on the rise. You can't really rise much faster than being snatched up by a giant bird. Let this be a lesson to all of us; if you are a scowly little stick in the mud who refuses to wear their bee hat, you will be snatched up by a thunderbird.

Their poor mother....

Giant thunderbirds? This calls for a rescue operation, and SAM missiles...

"Sam? We don't have any missiles named name. And what's a missile anyway?"

"I dunno, just felt like the right thing to say."

"Okay."

What if he just wants company for tea?

Then it'll be prudent to be civil and have tea with him, but keep a big weapon behind just in case.

...forget the hornets.  Giant thunderbirds are much worse.  O_O;

IF ONLY SHE HAD WORN HER BEE HAT, THIS COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED.  DANGIT ALL, BLUE MOON.

It really would have. Thunderbirds fear the color orange and do not snatch up creatures that wear this color. Which is why it didn't snatch up both of them.

...I would now like to create an in-depth and lengthy headcanon as to why thunderbirds fear the color orange.

Absolutely love the drawing and think a thunderbird would be a great addition to the mythological cast of MLP:FiM but I have to wonder... Is this a specific reference to something that I'm completely missing? If so, what does it come from?

Nope, you are not missing any reference at all. The thunderbird was a totally random suggestion from my sister.

That's always the way, isn't it?  You're standing there in a bee suit setting up land surveying equipment with your twin sister, and the next thing you know a giant mythological bird swoops down out of nowhere and snatches you up.  Just typical.

Great-looking thunderbird, by the way.  Very intense eyes.

That always happens to me when I'm out in my bee suit setting up land surveying equipment with my twin sister. You know what they say, draw what you know, you know?

Well, ya should rescue her.

By the way, that should probably be 'wear their bee hat'...
